Dr. Kate Amos

Dr Kate Amos grew up in Coffs Harbour and returned home to practise after graduating from the University of Queensland with first-class honours. Her clinical interests are orthodontics, orofacial pain, sleep dentistry and conservative treatment: finding the least invasive option that will genuinely solve the problem.

Kate’s work extends well beyond the surgery. She holds a Master of Health Professional Education, has taught and researched at several Australian universities, and has served as an assessor and Board member for the Australian Dental Council, the body that sets standards for the profession. She has held committee and Board positions with the Australian Dental Association for more than a decade, including as President of the local ADA Division and study group, and continues to help organise local and national dental education events.

She was named Australian Young Professional of the Year by Professions Australia in 2015 and ADA Outstanding Young Professional of the Year in 2021.

To make sure existing patients are looked after, Kate is not currently taking on new general care patients. The practice works as a team, though, and complex cases are routinely discussed with Kate and the other dentists so that every patient benefits from her experience.

Away from work, Kate plays music enthusiastically, spends time with her family (including Nachi, the practice therapy dog) and leads the local Guide unit for 10 to 14 year olds.
